Weather Forecasting or Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere, and all its wonderful different aspects, such as Clouds, Winds and Precipitation. Weather, therefore, is the combined effect of all these variables put together. Now you know why it is so hard to predict the weather for any given day!

How cold or hot the temperature gets, and the chances or rain, snow or wind, all depend on a blanket of air around the Earth, called the Atmosphere.  The atmosphere, is a fairly thin blanket of air and water vapor, that just like the ocean, has waves, and currents running in every direction.

In two of my books titled, The Weather Person's Handbook, as well as If Not For Weather We Would All Be Naked, I explain how the weather works, and just how important of a role it plays in our day to day lives.
